About this session
All pupils benefit from a calm and predictable classroom environment, but it is especially important for pupils with additional needs.
This interactive session is designed to help teachers explore evidence and overcome common barriers to creating a calm classroom environment, using scenarios and guided discussion.
This session accompanies the EEF’s Guide to Inclusive Teaching.

Malik explains his efforts to support Ryan, a pupil with additional social and emotional needs:
“Last lesson, before starting a class discussion, I set an expectation about raising hands. I also said I’d reward good contributions and give a negative behaviour point to anyone shouting out.
